Is democracy and freedom of speech alive and kicking in Sri Lanka? අඩෝ පඩ ශෝව් එපා, ජංගිය පේනවා!

1. Almost every year there is some sort of election where people get to exercise their democratic right to vote.

2. All what the non-gov media do is bitch and bitch.

3. Most independent blogs do the same, complain about the government. The amount of blogging out of Sri Lanka in all three languages in proportion to its status as a RDC is huge.

4. The communist parties have all but folded and closed business. The rapidly declining JVP is a fantastic example.

It’s how you spin it, isn’t it? අඩෝ පඩ ශෝව් එපා, ජංගිය පේනවා!

Amnesty International defines Human Rights in our Motherland, Sri Lanka ☺

Amnesty International defines Human Rights in our Motherland, Sri Lanka J

http://blog.amnestyusa.org/uncategorized/state-dept-no-accountability-yet-for-sri-lanka-war-crimes/

Its easy to wax eloquent from the sanctuary of our perceived western democratic porcelain pinnacles, after all especially in times of economic hardship the folks at Amnesty International I am sure work extra hard to justify their existence at this organisation.

But what you bring up in this blog under the guise of human rights and international refugee welfare does create many unanswered questions.

The former reality in Sri Lanka before May 2009 for 30 years was that a majority of the Tamil populace in the North and East of Sri Lanka were forced to take up arms under the dictatorship of an egomaniac. The rest of the Tamil populace from Colombo and its suburbs enjoyed the same rights as any Sri Lankan. They still go to the best schools, have the best jobs and enjoy the same freedom as any Sri Lankan.

When the now defunct peace accord in 2001 took place, senior LTTE cadre’s finally got a chance to visit Colombo. What they found in Colombo stood against everything that was brainwashed to them in the North. They did not expect to see all Sri Lankan’s in Colombo living, working and collaborating together for the good of the country. Housed at the Hilton Residencies, meetings with successful Tamils who lived amongst all Sri Lankan’s in the city, short trips to Singapore opened the eyes of many senior cadres of the LTTE and finally the end of terrorism in Sri Lanka.

Prabakaran started a war, fuelled and financed by a opportunistic Tamil Diaspora, but fought by a bunch of innocent civilians who had no understanding of what they were fighting for. Political manipulation and war ravaged the north and east of Sri Lanka and a new hatred was created. Including the LTTE suicide cadre. International Terrorism had a new weapon.

Everyone questions equal rights, but no one questions the end to Jaffna through terrorism. Jaffna situated in the very north of Sri Lanka was second only to Sri Lanka’s commercial capital in terms of trade and wealth. The Tamil economy, both cultural and financial was destroyed by the LTTE. All of Jaffna business leaders fled to Colombo from the LTTE, not abroad.

Black July in 1983 is Sri Lanka’s biggest shame, the pinnacle of LTTE popularity and the creation of the Tamil Diaspora. As someone who lives in London, England, spent six years in USA, and still visit the US, I ask, how many Tamil refugees and asylum seekers who flee to the west now are using this situation to dupe the west to care for them?

The modern asylum seeker speaks of poverty and marginalisation, but closer scrutiny will reveal that they went to the best schools in Sri Lanka, did good jobs and lived comfortably. None of them are the real refugees who haven’t even seen an one hundred rupee currency (approx 50 pence for you and I) note? The north and east where these people live were flourishing agricultural micro economies in Sri Lanka. Just pawns of the Tamil warmongers in Colombo and the west.

This war that the Diaspora used primarily to satisfy their conscience, and gain favour from genuinely kind and concerned people in the west is over. PLEASE STOP TEACHING OUR CHILREN HATE, WAR AND VIOLENCE.

The Sri Lankan government may silence its citizens and adopt a dictator style government, but Amnesty International please wake up from your slumber. You are creating more ill will and hate amongst the children of Sri Lanka and the Diaspora all over the world. I am sure by standing up against crimes in Sri Lanka, you do not plan to create hatred and flourishing terrorist organisations in your own land. Lands of democracy and freedom. Where terrorism thrives?

Lands where what Israel does in Palestine is OK, the use of drones to bomb families in Afghanistan is OK, what happens in Iraq and the unlawful subjugation of all of Iraq is OK, the list is endless.

A young baby in London starved and tortured to death by his own mother is OK.

Please present both sides to every story and do not support hate mongering. When you do what you do, like this blog, all you do is yourselves say TERRORISM IS OK. Under the guise of democracy.

PHYSICIAN HEAL THYSELF. OR JUST PISS OFF FROM TRYING TO BULLY DEVELOPING COUNTRIES LIKE OUR OWN. THOSE DAYS ARE FINALLY OVER.

The world today is quite simple really, if you sodomise me, I will find someone stronger than you to sodomise you back. The fabulous truth is that the people who work Amnesty International enjoy being sodomised by warmongers and terrorists.

Sometimes, many times, this time; Silence is golden

After much ado about the presidential and general elections, the Elephant Party reels in disarray. Despite the pundits, media and PR experts they keep making the same mistake again and again.

New leadership, new thinking is yet to come to light or fruit.

The new media strategy or rather the lack of it has led to many a good meaning blogger or blogging organisation out of their own goodwill do more bad for the Elephant Party than good. A good PR strategist will be able to point this out to them.

This is one instance were any news is leading to bad news.

Mangy is only using you. He is slowly building his own party. Suddenly you will see him break free on his own with his supporter base. SOON!

SF never was, never will be.

Re-group, recuperate, re-launch.

BUT NOW IS NOT THE TIME. NOW IS THE TIME TO SILENTLY GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER. STAY SILENT FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR. FOR YOUR OWN AND THE PARTY'S SAKE.

THEN LAUNCH WITH A BANG.

Don't believe the hype.

Most of all - Think will you, don't be so bloody desperate. The answer lies with the constantly losing Victory Lion, he and he alone can resurrect the party. So far, yet so near. Am I the only one who sees this? The question you must answer is we now still have an assured voter base of 30% in Sinhaland. How can we win back at least 20% of the masses support? Is the Elephant Party too kultur to think in this strategic direction?

Silence is golden. For now, for another year.

Even Dogs know what's good for them - UNP'ers don't!

If tomorrow never comes?

At first the promise was all's OK, the General will win handsomely. He retreated with his tail between the legs.

Now the promise is they will win the General Election and have majority in Parliament.

After the failed CFA and selling out of Sinhaland when will the homo elephantine leaders realise the country will never vote them in again?

STOP PRESS - Ranil claims that Preme and JR come to advise him at night!

Sinhaland Newswire

Multinational signs agreement to sponsor peace sculpture at a famous park amphitheatre in remembrance of war hero's in the post Pongal battle with the SinhalandGov and City Municipality. Four artistes will be commissioned each year to build temporary exhibits depicting the impermanence of war. Each artist will be given one month to build the design and two months for display.

The elections commissioner disappears from his home at night. The opposition holds new conference in Sinhapura to announce that he has been smuggled out of Sinhaland to Mahabarat and is now on a plane to Sinhapura.

He supposed to expose the biggest election fraud in Sinhaland. According to him the presidential was a famous victory for the general. He was forced to reveal the computer password for the two contestants names to be switched in some results. The University of Moratuwa IT person who headed the computer tabulation and publishing of results is now reported by Reuters as missing.

In more election news the opposition leader is arrested in Cambodia with a minor, similar to the popular Brit singer Gary Glitter. The opposition leader however was with a young boy. The president of Sinhaland has immediately dispatched a senior legal retinue from Sinhaland to plead the opposition leader, Victory Lions release. The president quotes ‘a weak opposition is important for us, our success is largely due to Victory Lion’s weakness, we must get him back before the elections’.

The opposition largely gay are now courting the Sinhaland former President Satellite's son, to their camp, ‘because from the way he dresses, his girlish looks and pink lips, he is obviously camp’ quotes two of the opposition leader and former prime ministers so camp friends; the businessman with a love for rugby players and the other an ex-finance secretary from the opposition. This apparently has annoyed the jumping prince from Southern Sri Lanka, Mangy the rimmer with the nice bimmer.

Further news follows an independent investigation on the death of Pongal terrorist leader Praba. Alike the former PLO leader Yasser Arafat apparently Pongal Praba too was requested to surrender and that he would be repatriated to the Mahabarat to stand trial for the killing of Mahabarat’s favourite son. There after he was promised a pardon as he did not wear the garland with explosives that killed the favourite son. Pongal Praba was promised safe passage to Southern Mahabarat to enter a political carrier similar to his other brethen who sold him out to the Sinhaland President. All Pongal Praba got however was a bullet to his head.

Meanwhile Sinhaland’s city economy seems to reach doldrums unheard of. While change is being preached, some of the key city economic indicator and businesses including drugs, prostitution and advertising keep falling. Some advertising agencies the city spy hears are close to closing. Many of Sinhaland’s playboy community now fly from Sinhaland to Thailand for sex, drugs and rock and roll. They are wise unlike the opposition rimmers and avoid Cambodia at all costs. Sex tourism contributes to almost 60% of the Thai economy so they welcome all perverts, buggers and pedophiles with open arms, legs, mouths and buttocks.

We sign off with news internationally that the UN agencies, United Kingdom, USA and the World Bank have severely instructed the Sinhaland Government that if free and fair elections are not held in Sinhaland in April next month, they will no longer support the inflation of the rupee and allow it to depreciate to levels never heard before.

EOA continues to believe however that the King Party and his family posses the biggest cojones on Mother Earth, even their women have them, and will refuse to be bowed.

EOA reporting from the city, Sinhaland, 18.30 GMT, 08.03.10.

RW has no balls. SF has small balls. MR has the biggest balls in Sinhaland.

Get the picture, balls?

No balls - RW.

Small balls - SF.

The biggest balls in Sinhaland - MR.

7+% majority means a clear winner. It's difficult to have cheated and won on that kind of majority with a 70% voter turnout and all the election observers. Even if the minorities in SL had turned out to vote at 70% levels, SF didn't have a rats chance.

MR president for the next six years, Wow! Time to be crowned undisputed king your majesty his Excellency the President of Sinhaland - King Kingparty.

A strict diet of eggs does not make the opposition leader an intelligent man! They will serve only to be thrown in his face.

Bollocks everybody. The General and the President fell out over a minor proposal spat involving the General’s daughter saying nay to the hand of the Presidents golden son. Third class treatment to the General ensured that the opposition managed to snare him into the foolishness of declaring candidacy to the most wanted job in Sinhaland.

The General does not lose either way. He has sown his oats in Sinhaland and knows either way he has safe passage to his adopted country. That much is guaranteed.

The opposition leader has nothing to lose either. If not anything he will always remain the leader of the opposition. Guts to contest deserted him in case of another loss to his already impressive string of losses.

The playbook should have read like this:

The opposition leader contests. Fair and square, however much the country hates him, he is a known, credible candidate who’s party has a proven history of bringing prosperity to Sinhaland and slightly iffy international monetary credentials.

The General remains General and ensures that the so feared Special Forces maintain electoral polling dignity in Sinhaland. The ex-CJ, minorities and clergy from all faiths throw in their lot with the General supporting the candidacy of the Opposition Leader.

The rest of the blah, blah by the left, right and fundamentalists remain exactly so. They serve to only break the vote of the Sinhaland fundamentalists.

Nothing left to sentimentalism, or plain utopian lunacy on part of the opposition.

When Shit Bucket crossed back the writing was on the wall. How can the President lose an election that he just can’t afford to lose?

Soon he will truly be crowned King. King King-Party. Sounds good to some of us…

Selections for elections. Worship your country but not those who govern.

A presidential election that mainly will be contested through one platform. The worst time ever to ask people to vote as they live in economic hardship for winning the country sovereignty. An appeal for ‘Patriotism’ with a dismal end to the year. No bonuses paid. No bottle of arrack and roast chicken under the Christmas tree.

I believe a patriot to be someone who is fiercely loyal to their motherland and come what may believes they live in the best country in this world. As a Sinhaland patriot I believe that our country has the unlimited potential to be one of if not the best country in the world, both economically and socially.

However patriotism cannot be blind. So recognising that the country is being governed improperly just to guarantee its sovereignty is important. Then it’s a question of the devil and the deep blue sea. The case in Sinhaland as those who govern or the opposition is none the better.

Speaking through a wee bit of historical personal experience and the current ‘selections for elections’ posts on the Sinhaland ‘Kottu’ blogsphere I must note that most opinions are either politically biased or planted albeit through false loyalty 99% of the time. The Sinhaland public, the voter is fiercely loyal to their party or person of choice. But this loyalty can be extremely fickle.

The ground reality is that in the current scenario and for almost three decades holding a free and fair election in Sinhaland is impossible.

With the current governments strategy of persona non-gratis to international interference this presidential election will be as violent. The two main contenders both lay claim to patriotism and Sinhaland sovereignty. In my humble experience in PR and Marketing the opposition keep making the same mistake over and over again.

Challenging the current president of Sinhaland on a platform as same as his is a huge mistake. Finally however the pundits and experts opinion, gaining the unwashed masses vote is of paramount importance. As in every election they will decide who is to be the new president. This election they have been given one choice in different disguise. So they choose between one and the same.

I believe that if the main opposition leader who has the most seats in the current parliament contested the election under a platform of economic freedom and democracy his chances for victory would have been better. The reality is getting the voter to the polling booth to cast their vote, nothing else. Or this time around we will face a similar situation as in the land of the Taliban.

This is the only way to fight the violence, vote rigging and intimidation that goes hand in hand in any election in Sinhaland. Voter turnout.

A patriot remains a patriot; their patriotism to Sinhaland is not decided by whom they cast their vote for. I remain patriotic to Sinhaland. Which means come what may I will not speak bad about my country, recognise it’s evils and choose to ignore them out of love, help any Sinha citizen I meet to the best of my ability, and most importantly live my life in a manner that best exemplifies the pride of being a Sinha citizen. This pride I leave the reader to decide.

Good governance and sustainable development anyone? Anyone?

Or will a bottle of arrack and full stomach suffice?

Mangy a surprise entrant to Presidential elections…

In a stroke of political genius and strategy the political parties in Sinhaland combine to attack King Party’s presidential aspirations to be elected for a second term.

The nation and it’s Diaspora in the west wait in suspense for the announcement of presidential elections by King Party on Monday the 23rd of November an astrologically auspicious day for him.

The elephants file their most popular candidate Victory Lion who is guaranteed the upper class, middle class and minorities vote. A reliable candidate who will need to canvass hard to increase his vote of 40% in more than five other elections by another 10% to gain the 50% he needs to win.

Mangy running will ensure that the incumbent presidents popular vote in the south is weakened and numbers reduced.

The former Generals’ entrance to the presidential battle will be with the backing of the leftists and the Buddhist Party. Sinhaland winning it’s war against terror and his role as the architect to this victory will give the leftists and BP no other choice but back his candidature. He reliably might surprise everyone by emerging a clear winner.

Speculation is also rife that after Monday’s announcement by the incumbent president, Sinhaland may also see the entrance of a wild card, the former Chief Justice with a strong Buddhist and therefore BP backing. CJ as he is still popularly known will have complete judiciary and Bar Association backing as he is still respected and supported in the legal circles of Sinhaland.

The ‘Kulturs’ in Sinhaland, the culture vultures whose love of the west and their quest to reposition the commercial city as a Sinhaland bastion of modern democracy seem to have got their strategy right to overturn the incumbent in this all important presidential poll.

What remains to be seen is the reply to this strategy by the incumbent president, his now infamous King Party clan, friends of the family and other supporters.

The Sinhaland voter with over a 90% literacy rate has proved to be elusively disloyal as past elections show.

Interest will be keen on how the approximately 25% of the Sinhaland minorities vote. The last presidential election proved that this is an all important deciding ballot, or rather last time around the fact that many of these minorities were discouraged from casting their ballot in that presidential poll.

International media, UN election observers and interference from powerful world democracies will be discouraged or completely banned in this election. Therefore, what definitely is on cards is the bloodiest and most fiercely fought election in the history of Sinhaland.

Last December during the celebrations for the birth of Jesus Christ many in Sinhaland prayed for Peace. This December all of Sinhaland will pray fervently for ‘Peace of Mind’.

Pissing in our own bathwater. Democracy in Sinhaland. Who’s to blame for the lack of it?

Far more than FREE and FAIR elections a nation to exist democratically requires many more institutions in place, and administered without state interference.

- Independent Courts (Especially a judiciary that cannot be bribed)

- Non-party civil servants

- Independent institutions such as places of religious worship and universities

- The rule of law and property rights

- A free press

- Constitutional checks and balances

- A culture of openness and tolerance, especially of minorities

In Sinhaland political greatness is thrust upon some. Love Slave was one who sought this greatness and won it. We covered in fear during his rule. But our pockets were always filled, rice and curry three times a day, a promise of economic greatness to come, so we endured in silence. Satellite inherited her greatness from filial connections. She was our saviour as the 60% + majority she won in the first presidential race proved. She proved to be the worst leader Sinhaland had in history. Effectively kicking out Victory Lion’s brief but promising bid at democratic governance with his gay cohorts and selling state assets to amass a fortune even King Party is still jealous of. As for King Party what has been said I think is quite enough.

So basically we are a dictatorship that sheds it’s sheep’s clothing gradually.

We complain to the west, run to the United Nations, lobby to ensure that Sinhaland loses their GSP + status in Europe for the export of garments, those with ties to the government work hard to increase tourist arrivals, the Pongal diasporas work hard to discredit our image and discourage tourists, the opposition accuse the government of human rights abuse, the government brand them as traitors, the squabble continues.

We must now please stop blaming Banda and Thonda. Stop running to Jack and Jill. Correct our weak opposition. Ensure that all those who lost their lives to the Pongal war didn’t die in vain.

Stop running to external forces.

The time has come for the people to exercise their democratic right.

Charon calls out to the stronger souls willing to make the passage. Do you have a coin placed inside your mouth? Are you one of the brave?

Democracy I remember very like the childhood I fondly reminisce upon. I do not seek greatness, nor has it been thrust upon me, I seek democracy, for myself and the people of my country.

Politics is just another profession. Do it well or get out. We can throw them out you know?

Use your vote wisely this time around. But use it you must. Most important is the voters’ ability to throw any rogues out at regular intervals. This is the only time we are indispensable.

The good people of Sinhaland.

The end of small miracles in Sinhaland

Do miracles happen in Sinhaland? Recent events that unfolded within its Ministry of Tourism highlighted what make this small island kingdom tick and the very non-existence of miracles, big or small.

A. Nepotism

Favouritism shown by somebody in power to relatives and friends, especially in appointing them to good positions.

B. Favouritism

1. The practice of giving special treatment or unfair advantages to a person or group.

2. The state of being a favourite person.

(Being a bitch or pimp to somebody powerful or pimping bitches to anyone powerful. Especially providing free underage or teenage girls from the Far East or the former Kremlin land.)

C. Last but most practised:

Bullshit/and bullshitters

The body’s solid waste matter composed of undigested food, bacteria, water, and bile pigments and discharged from the bowel through the anus.

Originally the Tourism Ministry was broken to many umbrella organisations to ensure that those in groups A, B and C all had a fair share of the pie. Then under the auspicious of many Managing Directors, Consultants and Communication Agencies, Sinhaland itself was declared ‘A small miracle’.

This marketing campaign itself served to highlight the absolute ignorance and disrespect for public funds by those who rule Sinhaland. How ‘small’ their brains were and their limited marketing knowledge. Especially the one young MD who had no idea of what he was doing. Well he had no idea of what he was doing, he knew he had no idea but bull shitted anyway and the people surrounding him had no idea of what they were doing either.

Communications and Marketing has expanded globally. Integrated marketing with a digital bias is the key. So where is the virtual benefit and experience?

A general state in all of Sinhaland. The wrong person for the right job…

No small miracle. Collective diarrheic, verbal and anal.

Why ‘Wickrama’ Sinha will always remain a ‘wanna’ be President in Sinhaland!

In the final stages of the war against the pongal fighters in the north, the advance at one time became extremely difficult.

Some of the brave Sinha soldiers then volunteered to go on ‘Hara Kiri’ missions. The pongal fighters really didn’t understand the bravery of the Sinha soldiers from the central and southern regions of Sinha Land.

The incredibly brave Sinha soldiers advanced amongst the enemy with explosives strapped to them. Talk about the shoe being in the other foot. The pongal fighters were in shock and suddenly their bravery deserted them at the shock of the sacrifice the Sinha soldiers made.

This will never be written in the Sinhaland history.

However their bravery and love for their motherland proved to be the final annihilation of pongal resistance.

Only a minute and rapidly dwindling amount of city Sinha dwellers support ‘Wickrama’ Sinha’s now dysfunctional ‘elephant’ party. They will never ever understand this sacrifice or have the bravery to make a sacrifice of this nature. Give one’s own life to one’s country.

It’s as simple as that.

So the current King Party President and his family will rule over Sinhaland for many, many decades to come. They have big balls you know? Ample proof are the two strapping young lads the King Party President has given birth to.

Ass (intended) we all know ‘Wickrama’ Sinha can’t produce sons. That bloodline dies with him, and so does the ‘elephant’ party.

The King Party family name will be written in stone in Sinhaland history. They will rule for many decades. Pretenders be aware, be very aware.

President of Sinhaland divides country into undisputed TWO

1. People who love their country
2. People who don't love their country

No Sinha, Pongal, Lancie or Thambi people!

Your excellency we really thought it was:

1. You, your family, relatives, close friends, those most loyal to you and casino owners
2. The rest of Sinhaland

Our apologies.

Sinhaland

The first Sinha people arrived in the Sinhaland late in the 6th century B.C. probably from northern Vande Matram. Buddhism was introduced in about the mid-third century B.C., and a great civilization developed at the cities of First City (kingdom from circa 200 B.C. to circa A.D. 1000) and Second City (from about 1070 to 1200).

In the 14th century, a south Vande Matram dynasty established a Pongal kingdom in northern Sinhaland.

The Kalu Lancie controlled the coastal areas of the island in the 16th century and by the Sudu Lancie in the 17th century.

The island was ceded to the Pada Sudhdha’s in 1796, became a sudhdha colony in 1802, and was united under Pada Sudhdha’s rule by 1815. It became independent in 1948; its name was changed to Sinhaland in 1972.

Tensions between the Sinha majority and Pongal separatists erupted into war in 1983. Tens of thousands died in the ethnic conflict.

After three decades of fighting, the government and Pongal fighters formalized a cease-fire in February 2002 with Norway brokering peace negotiations.

Violence between the Pongal fighters and government forces intensified in 2006 and the government regained control of the Eastern Province in 2007.

In January 2008, the government officially withdrew from the cease-fire, and by late January 2009, the Pongal fighters remained in control of a small and shrinking area in the North.

In July 2009 the great Pongal fighter leader was killed by Sinha armed forces and full sovereignty of Sinhaland returned to the Sinha people.

The King Party now rules the Sinhaland with an iron whip.

We explore in stages the history of the Sinhaland; better understand it’s most important events and the creation of the now mighty and untouchable King Party. We attempt to seek answers to many unanswered questions.
